By Still Waters I

Work and Worship

O Lord,
Heavenly Father
Thou who art the same,
yesterday, today, and forever,
warm my cool heart
to render Thee praise,
nay, inflame my heart
towards Thee
that I may be consumed
in adoration and
worship of Thee.
Lift me above the petty callings
of the ordinary duties of my day
that surround me on every side
so that I may see
and worship Thee
and not them.
May the subduing of their siren calls
to me
by Thy hand
cause these duties to be laid down
at Thy feet
only to be raised up
and attended to by me
as acts of worship
to Thee.

“And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.” Psalm 97:17. Thanks for your comment, Jan. Mary
